Toon Klarenbeek

Toon joined HSC as an intern in the role as Junior Advisor in February 2026. He is responsible, among other things, for monitoring media and drafting press releases. He also supports the development of communication strategies and the providence of media training.

Toon obtained his bachelor's degree in international politics from Leiden University in July 2025. In September 2025, he started withhis master's in international politics, focusing on international political processes and crisis management.

During his studies, Toon developed an interest in strategic communication and reputation management. He completed a minor in strategic communication and wrote his bachelor thesis on how the European Union presents itself during times of crisis.Throughout his studies, he worked on strategic media campaigns for an employment agency. With this internship, Toon aims to gain deeper insight into how strategic communication is applied in practice.
